Scientific papers as the benchmark

The research group that I did my PhD in had a really high standard of paper writing. We use papers to communicate ideas and discoveries to other scientists and experts to move the world forward. In this topic, I will present an approach to write a paper to PhD level.

Writing is an integral part of academia, or even in business where words used in terms and conditions have big consequences. In general words we speak to each other too can have important consequences.

Thesis writing, which is applicable to essay writing

The experience of writing my PhD thesis was a wide range of emotions from feeling; rewarding, painful, motivating, and exhausting. I had a break due the COVID pandemic and starting again is tough, we will look at ways to break down a huge idea and build a thesis, how to structure your research so the right information is readily available.

Structure of a presentation to win arguments.

I presented in a few IEEE conferences and gained experience in each one. Nerves are always present as different people react differently to the spotlight. Preparation can go a long way to make a successful presentation.

In this part, I will present the key structures of an argument to build your presentation. I use Silva Rhetorica – by Dr. Gideon Burton of Brigham Young University, to persuade and convince others of my ideas. A classical approach with Latin and Classical Greek terms is perfect for the boffins at Eton College. Other useful preparation included mentally prepare for the difficult questions, which may come up. For example from difficult interviewers.

The importance of concise language to transfer your ideas

In my discussion with a Lawyer, using the right words matters. The right words convey the right message to the receiver as you intended. You can write more efficiently by having the right structure in your mind.

Creative writing to open every opportunity

Creative writing is the final piece of this puzzle with the child’s imagination and creativity. The possibilities are infinite. Fiction or nonfiction, various genres, news, sports, the current challenge with Maths. A key part of the BE a Scholar Tuition is that we focus on the approach and the outcome is limitless. (We do provide suggestions to tie back to the National Curriculum.)

In summary – focus on writing

BE a Scholar Tuition approach is focused on writing and content generation. In this series, we will look at scientific writing at a high academic level. The child will notice a vast improvement in their writing as we focus on the fundamentals and continually practise and refine. I hope to see the evolution of their interests as they write more. Their style will become more evident. All their work will accumulate into added confidence, resilience in their personality and support their future endaevors.

Happy writings.
