English and creative writing exams unlike Mathematics and the Sciences, answers are not necessary right or wrong but to be discussed and convince the examiners that you understood the poem or task. The King’s Scholarship is looking for candidates that have mastered many aspects of English. My area is academic scientific writing. The main objective is to persuade to other experts that my research has value.
There is also my pastime, blog writing. http://www.delbot1234.co.uk. Clearly, practice leads to better writing (perfect is not really achievable.)
The future episodes on this front wil be.
- Persuasive writing – classical and renaissance rhetoric – Useful for personal statement / presentations.
- Interview with an Author – Let’s discuss with a Professional.
- Write with a plan, how to plan a thesis or a paper.
- Practise / how – Let’s start a writing club. If you spend the time, I will review*.
- General Questions / creative writing review – When there is a club.
For those keen writers out there, start an Alias WordPress account (start privately) and start writing blogs, like I did in 2010. Email the alias to information@beascholartuition.co.uk, to share content with me and I will review objectively (about logic, grammar, and structure)*. Build your own portfolio, write about your interests, practise and you can see your own development. As a bonus, you can have something to talk about in your interviews, Persistence, creativity, discipline, and interesting.
*Dependent on the content of the blog and my availability.
