I looked at the Science (Theory) 2021 and 2020 papers. There will be questions on Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The five questions are distributed randomly. The subjects are independent and the advice is to prepare equally on each subject. The scholars who can complete these exams to high level will have a broad understanding and can deduce the key concept that each question is focused on.

My recommendation is to understand the fundamental concepts, which will require memorization. A small amount of memorization is important as the child can build on these concepts and can understand the bigger picture and context. Look for online resources that will compliment their day to day school studies. The Science Museums ad Natural History Museums apply theory into their exhibits. Just need to take your time and look.

In summary, the three-step approach:-

1. Fundamental theories
2. Wider context on the theories
3. Observe application of those theories.
